The EU may launch a retail digital currency of the central bank (Central Bank Digital Currency, CBDC).
The European Central Bank (ECB) has launched a survey of EU residents about the digital euro, said ECB President Christine Lagarde.
According to CoinDesk, we are talking about the retail digital currency of the Central Bank (Central Bank Digital Currency, CBDC).
“We have started public consultations so that Europeans … can express preferences and tell us if they would be happy to use the digital euro … knowing that it is ECB money that is available and can be relied on,” Lagarde said.
The survey is published in the public domain, in order to pass it, registration is required, in addition, you will need to select the country of residence from the proposed list.
According to the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), 36 central banks have already announced their readiness to issue CBDC in the next six years.
